Virtual Tour of The Pergamon Museum, Berlin
As one of Germany’s largest museums, Pergamon has a lot to offer – even if you can’t physically be there. This historical museum is home to plenty of ancient artifacts including the Ishtar Gate of Babylon and, of course, the Pergamon Altar.
It is located 26 kilometres from the modern coastline of the Aegean Sea on a promontory on the north side of the river Caicus and northwest of the modern city of Bergama, Turkey.
During the Hellenistic period, it became the capital of the Kingdom of Pergamon in 281–133 BC under the Attalid dynasty, who transformed it into one of the major cultural centres of the Greek world. Many remains of its monuments can still be seen and especially the masterpiece of the Pergamon Altar. Pergamon was the northernmost of the seven churches of Asia cited in the New Testament Book of Revelation.
The Man with the Golden Brush: James Bond star Pierce Brosnan, 68, reveals he is set to exhibit his paintings after selling his portrait of Bob Dylan for a whopping £1.1m
Pierce posted a range of his other pictures on Instagram, but let the art do the talking as he stepped aside.
One image showed a man wearing what appeared to be a necklace made of Swiss cheese as he stood on a tropical island beneath the moon.
Another showed a man in a purple jumper with a multi-coloured face as he stood against a monochrome background.
Meanwhile, another work showed a person standing with their hand close to their very detailed heart, showing all the parts from the ventricles to the valves.

ArtLovers Quote Of The Week
”I paint flowers so they will not die”- Frida Kahlo
We Love Art Painting of The Week
The Son of Man by Rene Magritte, 1964, is a famous Surrealist self-portrait depicting a suited gentleman with an apple hovering in front of his face.
The man’s face is largely obscured by the hovering green apple. However, the man’s eyes can be seen peeking over the edges. The actual painting is privately owned and rarely goes on display for the public.
