Frida Kahlo is the most famous female artist in history. She deviated from the traditional portrayal of female beauty in art, and instead chose to paint raw and honest experiences. We Love Art Painting of The Week

Woman with a Parasol by Monet was painted plein air (outdoors), which gives the painting its intimate and spontaneous feel. Monet’s light, spontaneous brushwork creates splashes of colour. The work is a genre painting of an everyday family scene instead of a formal portrait. The painting is one of Monet’s most recognizable and revered works and of impressionism as a whole. Woman with a Parasol was painted outdoors, probably in a single session of several hours’ duration.
