Virtual Tour of The Guggenheim Museum, Bilbao
Frank Gehry’s sculptured titanium and steel building, on the banks of the Nervión River, is one of the world’s most distinctive art spaces. The interactive tour takes viewers around its collection of postwar American and European painting and sculpture – Rothko, Holzer, Koons, Kapoor – and even down between the weathered curves of Serra’s Matter of Time (turn left at the entrance).

Art History Is Now Getting A Makeover In a New Series of Illustrations by Artist Carlos Gromo
The Spanish artist began the series in 2019 as a way to make classical paintings more engaging for people who are not familiar with art history. Gromo redraws the compositions of iconic masterpieces and substitutes the subjects with Disney characters that fit with the theme. What makes each of his illustrations so charming is how he seamlessly blends Disney’s iconic style into the design.

We Love Art Painting of The Week
The Large Family (‘La Grande Famille’) was created by Rene Magritte in 1963,. At first glance, one immediately questions the appropriateness of the title for there is no image of a family, human or otherwise. However, that should not come as a surprise as Magritte was well-known to derive great pleasure in confusing his viewers.
The background of The Large Family displays a dreary sky, either on the verge of a storm or, could the pink light on the horizon signify the end of one? The ominous clouds together with the rolling sea below evoke turbulent feelings, perhaps symbolizing the trials and tribulations that families often endure together. In depicting harmony and discord, Magritte skillfully portrayed the concept of family in The Large Family by evoking relevant and intense emotions through symbolic surrealism.
