Virtual Tour of The Uffizi Gallery, Florence

This less well-known gallery houses the art collection of one of Florence, Italy’s most famous families, the de’Medicis.

The building was designed by Giorgio Vasari in 1560 specifically for Cosimo I de’Medici, but anyone can wander its halls from anywhere in the world.

The Gallery entirely occupies the first and second floors of the large building constructed between 1560 and 1580 and designed by Giorgio Vasari. It is famous worldwide for its outstanding collections of ancient sculptures and paintings (from the Middle Ages to the Modern period).

Francoise Gilot, 97, Does Not Regret Her Pablo Picasso Memoir

T’s features director did a deep dive into the life of Gilot, an artist who had a 10-year affair with Picasso, and wrote all about it in a 1964 memoir that was brought back into print earlier this year. “I think it’s very important in life to have no regrets,” Gilot told La Force. “‘Regrets’ meaning not having done this or that.

Well, it’s much better to have done this or that, and, therefore, it had a result. That is the objective in real life, and then you cope with it as well as you can.”

The We Love Art Painting Course

The best part of WLA is watching our Artlovers unleash their inner artists and leave us speechless. So it is time to show off what our community is creating all around the world.

Last month, we completed another amazing We Love Art Course with a grand exhibition. We are so proud of what all our Artlovers have achieved! Our next course starts from the 18th of September and can’t wait to have some more fantastic Artlovers begin their creative journey with us.

”Art is the elimination of the unnecessary.”-Pablo Picasso

We Love Art Painting of The Week

The Great Wave off Kanagawa is a woodblock print by the Japanese ukiyo-e artist Hokusai. It was published sometime between 1829 and 1833. It is Hokusai’s most famous work and one of the most recognizable works of Japanese art in the world.

The image depicts an enormous wave threatening three fishing boats off the coast of the town of Kanawaga while Mount Fuji rises in the background. Hokusai has arranged the composition to frame Mount Fuji.
