Paint “Automat” by Edward Hopper
AED 345.00
Automat is a 1927 painting by the American realist painter Edward Hopper. Modeled after his wife, Jo, the painting portrays a lone woman staring into a cup of coffee in an automat at night.
Hopper’s Automat uses light and shadows to drive the viewer’s eye to the many symbols in his work. The Automat was Hopper’s way to show his view of the times in which he was living.
